Weekly Schedule & Notes - September 1, 2013

What a great and exciting start to the season. A 179.9 is the our second highest opening night score in program history and we certainly have room for improvement.

Thank you the families that provided the food and drinks for Thursday, it was a busy night and I know a lot of the snacks went unused but that won't happen on any of the bus trips that we have coming up. This week's snacks hosts are Kenayde (main), Kirky (snacks), Bree (drinks). Please be sure to send the items with your daughter to the bus on Wednesday.

Team Dinners - I'm still looking for a couple of Broomfield families to co-host one of the team dinners before our home meet. I have a group of families from Louisville that have offered to host the other. Please let me know if you're interested.

Weekly Update - August 24

Here's our schedule for the week and some other important notes...

Monday     3:30-6:00pm
Tuesday     3:30-5:30pm
Wed.         3:30-6:00pm
Thurs.       Meet at Mountain Range HS
Gymnasts arrive via carpool at 4:15pm (this is different from the 4pm time on our calendar)
                March In is at 6pm

**Drop girls off in the back of the school (East side) which is the athletic activities entrance. The meet will be in the small auxillary gym which is as far east as the hallway extends through a set of glass doors (this will make more sense once you arrive).

Routine Videos - If you didn't receive my email with the youtube link it's below. We try to tape routines at every meet and this year I will try to get them uploaded to youtube so girls can watch, review and learn from their performances.

Practice Meet Videos

Leos - The girls received two leos at practice on Saturday. The tank leo is the warm up leo that each girl keeps and is required to wear for warm ups at meets. Please wear a bra that CANNOT be seen under the tank leo. The girls are allowed to wear black shorts only at meets with the warm up leos.

The long sleeve competition leos are property of the school so girls must return at the end of the season in the garment bags they were distributed in. Please try on your undergarments PRIOR to the first meet to ensure nothing can be seen.

Spirit Packs-  We should be distributing spirit packs as early as Monday or Tuesday next week (which the girls are very excited about). In addition to all of the gear the girls are getting in their spirit packs they do need a pair of black capri leggings for march in. We choose not to provide these because we find the girls can find them for a lot less than we would get from our supplier. It doesn't matter what brand; some girls have Nike but most have $6 ones from Target. Just be sure to get black, capri length. These are worn for march in with our team jackets.

Pictures- The school is currently trying to schedule our pictures so be on the look for more information. I was told there is a good chance pictures might be on a Saturday this year. I'll let you know as soon as i do.

Practice Attendance-  I know with school starting everyone is still getting into the routine of getting to practice after the last bell but please do your best as parents to get your daughter to practice ON TIME. We have a lot of girls from five different schools but there's nothing more frustrating as coach then having girls come in late and leave early. Most of our team announcements are done at the beginning or end of practice so if your daughter isn't there they very well could be missing important information.

Practice Times- I try very hard to stay consistent in the practice days and times that I distribute at the beginning of season but some things are out of my control since we practice at a public facility. Please be aware that because of the class sizes of some of the fall classes at the Rec and the size of our team we will more than likely be having some varsity only practice on Tuesday's or Thursday's in the coming weeks; because the gym is so crowded on those days having all 24 girls practice would be very unproductive. We'll be making those decisions in the coming days and will let the girls know well ahead of time what their schedule will be. Thanks for your understanding.

I think that's all for now...looking forward to a great week and an awesome first meet!
