STATE

Wow! Wow! Wow! Whitney and I are so proud of what the girls were able to accomplish yesterday at Regionals. Every year our goal is to be competing on the last day of the season at State and in order for that to happen we have to compete well at Regionals and qualify. We certainly did that yesterday with our season high score of a 185.125 and the #2 coming out of the three Regional meets. We will find out Monday what our event order will be for State on Thursday. In the meantime, it will be a short, busy week. Please, stay rested, hydrated and feed...the last thing we want is a illness taking anyone out.

We are going to have "spirit week" at school this week to help draw attention to the girls for the state meet so please note the clothing schedule as well (competitors and non-comptitors please dress up)

Gym Opens for Competitors   2:00pm
March In                                  3:50pm

Important Notes: Please know that non-competitors are invited and encouraged to spend the entire day with us on Thursday but need to be excused from school by their parents. If girls can't afford to miss the entire day it's completely understandable and they can come to the meet as soon as school is over.

Competitors will be excused from school for the entire day.

The girls will get together before breakfast (looking for volunteer home) to do their hair before carpooling to breakfast. I'm looking for one additional volunteer (Claudia V. is currently one volunteer) to help carpool the girls to breakfast and you are welcome to join us at breakfast as well. Please email me directly if you're interested and can help.

BHS will pay for the competitors breakfast; non-competitors need to bring money for breakfast.
From breakfast we will carpool across the way to Thornton HS. We are given entrance passes from CHSAA for our team but please have non-competitors bring some cash just in case something is not covered. In years past it's never been an issue but CHSAA doesn't guaranteed we will be given enough passes for everyone depending on the size of the team.

On Monday morning CHSAA will have the seeding meeting and send out our competition order; I'll let the girls and you know as soon as I do. The state meet format will be warm up 2 events, compete 2 events.

Adult ticket prices are $18 for both Thursday (team competition) & Saturday (event finals)
Seniors/Students are $12 for both sessions

Adult single day ticket is $8
Seniors/Students single day ticket is $5

SATURDAY
Event Finals - if we have girls that finish in the top-15 on any event on Thursday they will compete in event finals on Saturday. (These results, along with the team results, will be announced Thursday night)

Open Warm Up       2:00pm
March In                 3:55pm
Competition            4:00pm
Awards (approx.)    6:30pm

STATE MEET FORMAT
Team and all around results are determined during Thursday's competition. The top-15 finishers on each event on Thursday then qualify for the event finals on Saturday afternoon. If we have qualifiers for Saturday we will be there as a team to support and cheer them on.

The gym on Thursday will be FULL so please plan on arriving early. We will do our best to save seats using the BHS banners. CHSAA doesn't love us saving seats so it's always best if some parents can arrive early to help save a parent's section. Don't forget to wear your blue and sit together!

We (coaches) will provide sandwiches for the girls at the meet but would like to ask for a volunteer that can pick them up for us. We are also asking the the competitors bring a snack to share with the team. It's an incredibly long day so having lots of food and water is critical. We've assigned the snacks below:

Coaches - Sandwiches (need a volunteer to PU)

Nicki -  Nutella
Madeline - Veggie Dip
Heidi - Crackers
Abbi E. - Meat Tray
Abby H. - Sliced Apples
Nicole - Cheese Slices
Maya - Carrots / Cucumbers
Sidney - Gold Fish
Natalie - Grapes
Halle - Drinks

I know this was a LOT of information so please don't hesitate to write me with any additional questions.

This is a fun and exciting week and we alway appreciate your help and support. Please try and keep the girls rested, hydrated, well fed and as stress free as possible!

Weekly Schedule - 10/17/16

Wow!! What a great day it was for the Eagles at the CC Invite! Our season high score and a 2nd place team finish. Thank you so much for getting your girls to the meet. I know it was a long day and far away but it really does make such a big difference to have our whole team there as a part of it.

I have to admit my favorite part of the day was our Secret Sister gift exchange. It's such a fun experience watching these girls as friends and the creativity in their gifts never ceases to amaze me.

This will be our last week together as a whole team (but don't worry, there will still be team events). Wednesday is our league championship meet and there will be both a JV and Varsity league champion crowned. It should be a fun and exciting meet.

Schedule
Monday               3:30-6:00pm
Tuesday               3:30-5:30pm
Wednesday          Front Range League Championships
Thursday             3:30-5:30 (varsity only)

Front Range League Championships Meet
Everyone will be excused from school at 12pm

We will carpool from lunch to Mountain Range HS for the meet
Open Gym     2pm

Competition Order:     Bars-Floor-Vault-Beam

Mountain Range is not moving all of the equipment into the large gym (like at our Invite) so we will be competing bars and floor in the small gym, vault and beam in the large gym. We will only have to move gyms once during our competition but please be aware there will be some shuffling around.

Monday- small gift #1 ($5 or less)    Tuesday - small gift #2 ($5 or less)    Saturday - big gift & reveal ($15 or less)

Weekly Update - October 3-8

Wow!!! Whitney and I are so proud of the girls and our performance this past week at both the Mountain Range dual and the Broomfield Invitational. To watch these young ladies support each other, step up and perform at the level they did on the biggest stage thus far in the season is so exciting. We finished in 3rd place at the Invite (against the top-2 teams in the state-Overland and Pomona) but we earned our season high of a 180.55 and was only out of 1st place by .925!! Those are the numbers and statistics that we are going to focus on because we know that we have more in us and can make up that differential.

This week will be a fun and special week as it is our last home meet of the season and Senior Night! Please be sure we are taking care of ourselves, getting lots of rest and eating to keep our energy and stamina up.

Monday         Practice 3:30-6:00
Tuesday         Practice 3:30-5:30
                      Team Dinner (see below)
Wednesday    Home Meet vs. Ft. Collins / Ft. Morgan
Thursday       Practice 3:30-5:30

10/4 - Team Dinner
Girls will carpool to the dinner after practice and then will be picked up from there. Thank you to Maya Teaford and Ellie Guanella and families for hosting!
Maya Teaford's address is 705 E. Heartstrong Street, Superior

10/5 - Home Meet vs. Ft. Collins / Ft. Morgan
3:15-3:30pm         Arrive at gym
4:15pm                 Open Gym
5:50pm                 March In
6:00pm                 Competition Begins

We do have a small ceremony before awards to honor our seniors.

Secret Sister Week
Just a reminder that next week (October 10-15) is Secret Sister Week. It's been a long tradition (since I was in HS) that we do this fun event. We will draw names at the end of this week so the girls will have the weekend to shop. We never want this to be a burden on anyone so we encourage girls to be creative and use their imagination when it comes to gifts. The guidelines are as follows:
    Monday - small gift #1 ($5)
    Tuesday - small gift #2 ($5)
    Saturday - big gift & reveal ($15)

#D16 DEEP!
